Two musical genres that explore an iconic period of the 1980's and movie end credit scenes to many popular movies of the era. To no surprise, synth wave is a new take on old 80's retro style of music using Juno keyboards, Moog, and plated reverb in nearly every snare hit. It's a sunset cruising genre that leaves you feeling relaxed and never ending searching for something you didn't know you needed to find. I wanted to incorporate that feeling into Dayglider, but couldn't just end there. The 80's were full of big hair metal bands and British fusion rock that pushed most to be electrified in the moment....still do. I hoped to bring that in this project and not leave that feeling behind.
With all of that said, its good to take a challenge and a risk and just see what happens. After all, it's just an expression and one meant to communicate a story. I hope you find these genres extra special to your musical interests and tastes and if anything, just enjoy it! From the days of thunder to the classrooms of cobra kai, we all felt these moments in time worth remembering.
