Growing up in the 80’s as a child was a unique and interesting time in my life. With the rise and boom in early high-tech gadgets and video games and arcades, we found ourselves in an eye-opening time period for something really new and different. With that came music, and it was an era that explored in a futuristic style of using vapor synths, reverberated snare hits, and chorus-effected guitars. The hairstyles and fashion were bold and daring to say the least. It was a beautiful time in my life and I never realized how much music had effected me. I can remember from being in a grocery store to waiting rooms to outdoor pool parties, the timeline of the 80’s music impacting my soul.
At 7 years old I began playing piano and by 14 years old I picked up the electric guitar. I just wanted to do the fun creating that I saw my father do as a video and commercial producer. It left a “soundtrack” in my mind and I wanted to use music as a way to convey a personal experience and story, much like all musicians do. There is a universal language behind it all and the concept of expressing that in the most accurate way of the composer deep inside is best depicted through music.
In late 2019, Dayglider® was born. Currently working on the first album, “Doves in the Dark” and hoping to release by late 2020. This project began as an experiment and turned into something I hope the listeners find refreshing and moving in a way that is unique and powerful. I wanted to use the influences of my early childhood and various musical interests up until modern day and find a way to combine them that made a tasteful sense. The name came upon me as I drive a lot through beautiful scenic pastures and hills and just clicked as I fell into my own sonic trance. As we glide through our days, there is a story to be told. Alas, Dayglider ignited as an idea to pursue and I have plans to bring a lot of enjoyment to this for everyone to hear. “Hear” we go! .
